Lies of the United Nation and Cannabis

Plant or Pills

On March 25, 1972, the Final Act to the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, 1961, as Amended by the 1972 Protocol Amendment, was signed.  Although not self-executing, the provisions of the Single Convention must be incorporated into the domestic law by legislative acts in the signing party's country.

The Preamble to this International treaty, states the aim, purpose and justification for the Convention:

"PREAMBLE

The Parties,

Concerned
with the health and welfare of mankind,

Recognizing that the medical use of narcotic drugs continues to be indispensable for the relief of pain and suffering and that adequate provision must be made to ensure the availability of narcotic drugs for such purposes,

Recognizing that addiction to narcotic drugs constitutes a serious evil for the individual and is fraught with social and economic danger to mankind,

Conscious of their duty to prevent and combat this evil,

Considering that effective measures against the abuse of narcotic drugs require co-ordinated and universal action,

Understanding that such universal action calls for international co-operation guided by the same principles and aimed at common objectives,

Acknowledging the competence of the United Nations in the field of narcotics control and desirous that the international organs concerned should be within the framework of that Organization,

Desiring to conclude a generally acceptable international convention replacing existing treaties on narcotic drugs, limiting such drugs to medical and scientific use, and providing for continuous international co-operation and control for the achievement of such aims and objectives,

Hereby agree" ...  to Articles 1 - 50 and the four schedules appended, all of which comprise the International Treaty on Drug Control.

Article 1 provides for Definitions applicable and used throughout the Convention;

Article 2 describes the Substances Under Control and within each schedule and the method of control applicable.

Schedule 1 includes cannabis and is subject to all measures of control      applicable to drugs under the Convention.

Schedule IV drugs, also included in Schedule 1, subject to all measures of  control "including adopting special measures of control which are  necessary having regard to the particularly dangerous properties of  those drugs ..."

Article 28 - CONTROL OF CANNABIS

1. If a Party permits the cultivation of the cannabis plant for the production of cannabis or cannabis resin, it shall apply thereto the system of controls as provided in article 23 (licensing requirements) respecting the control of the opium poppy.

2. This Convention shall not apply to the cultivation of the cannabis plant exclusively for industrial purposes (fibre and seed) or horticultural purposes.

3. The Parties shall adopt such measures as may be necessary to prevent the misuse of, and illicit traffic in, the leaves of the cannabis plant.

Article 33 - POSSESSION OF DRUGS

The Parties shall not permit the possession of drugs except under legal authority.

Article 35 - ACTION AGAINST THE ILLICIT TRAFFIC

Having due regard to their constitutional, legal and administrative systems, ...

Article 36 -  PENAL PROVISIONS

1. Subject to its constitutional limitations, ... cultivation, production, manufacture, extraction, preparation, possession, offering, offering for sale, distribution, purchase, sale, delivery, brokerage, dispatch, transport, importation and exportation ... shall be punishable offences ... and that serious offences shall be liable to adequate punishment particularly by imprisonment or other penalties of deprivation of liberty

2. ...as an alternative to conviction or in addition to, the Parties may provide treatment, education, aftercare, rehabilitation and social integration ..

Compare the above to the following:

In reviewing the minutes to a 1971 United Nation 'symposium' discussing the research surrounding the chemistry and biological activity of cannabis, the following was noted:

Cannabis research at the Division of Narcotic Drugs, United Nations, Geneva is mandated with the primary function of internationally coordinating cannabis research in order to avoid unnecessary duplication of effort.

The emphasis of this international research was "to elucidate the effects of the compounds responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis in man, to quantify the constituents or their metabolites in biological fluids, to determine their toxicity and side effects and to correlate these data with the social effects of the drug."

Respecting the large number of new and unpublished data surrounding the positive findings from researching cannabis:

The Symposium revealed that a large amount of knowledge had been accumulated on the chemistry of cannabis and the synthesis of the cannabinoids and their metabolites. The report stated that there still remains some uncertainty as to how much THC is absorbed by smoking, to give the biological high. It concluded that THC and cannabis of known potency can be used with confidence in large scale clinical trials. It was determined that within the next few years (by 1975 ?), the clinical data will shed new light on the two basic questions of the UN "How dangerous is cannabis?" and "What should we do about it?"

In summary, this is evidence that the United Nations vilified cannabis without any corroborating scientific evidence as to its dangers!

How can a plant go from a useful industrial and medicinal benefit to society, to a fate of condemnation needing international control under the suspicious auspices of protecting our health?

Happy Liver - How YOU can Improve your Liver's Function

Kindle e-book on improving liver function
 getBook.at/Happy-Liver

Liver disease is a world wide problem and it is estimated that one in ten people have developed some form of liver disease. Unfortunately in western medicine, liver disease is commonly misdiagnosed until the disease is in an advanced stage. At this point, conventional western medicine will often prescribe chemically laden pills that mostly exasperate the problem. In addition, a large variance exists between conventional chemically laden pharmaceutical pills and that of natural plant based whole medicine.

Our liver is an amazing essential organ as it is able to regenerate itself, even when functioning at only 25%. One of its main roles in our bodies is detoxification. Unfortunately the amount of toxins in our everyday life impairs our liver's ability to optimally function.

The above  book describes the importance of our liver for vitality, energy and beauty, not to mention our overall health.  The above book - Happy Liver by Ryder Management Inc also introduces the reader to a number of existing natural remedies that can help remove the toxins in your liver and blood.

It is imperative to understand how toxic our world is and the importance of assisting our liver with its detoxification function. This book includes a number of remedies, recipes and hints to help your liver to function at its best in order for you to regain your health, beauty and vitality.

Duplicity of Health Canada, FDA and WHO

Although Canada is in the process of passing the new Cannabis Act legislation on July 1, 2018, the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) - annexed to Canada's 'Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, came into effect on August 5, 2016 and is expected to remain in effect for the first five years the new Cannabis Act is effective.

Despite the undeniable scientific research, evidence and randomized controlled trials, not to mention the abundance of analytical evidence (scientific evidence accumulated by observation, analysis and recording), Health Canada has published specific information for Health Care Practitioners regarding dosing, as follows:

Cannabis (marijuana, marihuana) is not an approved therapeutic drug in Canada. At present, while pointing to some potential therapeutic benefits, the scientific evidence does not establish the safety and efficacy of cannabis, to the extent required by the Food and Drug Regulations for marketed drugs in Canada, unless a particular cannabis product has received a notice of compliance from Health Canada and a Drug Identification Number (DIN) (e.g. nabiximols/Sativex®). However, the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations provide a mechanism for patients to access cannabis for medical purposes with the support of their physician or nurse practitioner (where authorized by provincial regulatory authorities).

The duplicity in the above opening paragraph to health care practitioners is obvious when compared with the number of drugs that the FDA and Health Canada approved and then revoked due to the original accepted fatal dose exceeding the standard. Vanessa's law is an example of how the FDA and Health Canada failed the people while pleasing Big Pharma.

How is it that Health Canada, mandated to protect the health of Canadians, be allowed to form laws, such as the ACMPR - stating that not enough scientific evidence exists on the safety and efficacy of this plant, while allowing a corporate giant such as Monsanto and its subsidiaries, affiliates and related corporations, to introduce genetically modified organisms into our food system, environment and everyday life, with scientific evidence revealing the harm these modified, unnatural products cause???

The United Nations appointed World Health Organization (WHO) is obviously benefiting from the duplicity in the GMO scam as evidenced by issuing the following statement about GMO food on their website:

8. Are GM foods safe?

Different GM organisms include different genes inserted in different ways. This means that individual GM foods and their safety should be assessed on a case-by-case basis and that it is not possible to make general statements on the safety of all GM foods.
GM foods currently available on the international market have passed safety assessments and are not likely to present risks for human health. In addition, no effects on human health have been shown as a result of the consumption of such foods by the general population in the countries where they have been approved. Continuous application of safety assessments based on the Codex Alimentarius principles and, where appropriate, adequate post market monitoring, should form the basis for ensuring the safety of GM foods.

Until Health Canada enacted the CESA (Canada Environment Safety Act), a number of Monsanto engineered "nano-products" have been grandfathered into use in Canada. Are these pre-CESA products safe?  The answer is, not enough scientific evidence is available.

The emerging FinTech (Financial Technology) Industry has the traditional banking industry shaking in their boots over fears of reduced profits. The Big Banks' Big Auditors' have all issued publications regarding "Banking Disruptive" and the threat of the emerging FinTech market's effect on the Big Banks' bottom line.

Canada's Big Six banks earned a combined net income of CA$34.9 BILLION in 2015 and it is these outrageous profits that provide a very attractive incentive for players outside the traditional banking system.

A 2014 publication by Deloitte entitled "Banking Disruptive"   states the following:
"Bank employees have historically been heavily incentivised to ensure customers opening current accounts are cross-sold credit cards and other loans and, in turn, insurance policies linked to these loans. Convenience and customers' lack of financial sophistication enabled banks to make high margins on these adjacent products."
Although all the major banks state their mission and objective is earning their customers trust and state that they act in the best interest of their customers, these same banks are profit oriented entities - and that, in itself, has an inherent primary focus of only having their shareholders' interests as priority.

As previously stated by a Big Auditing firm, the banking industry has relied on customers lack of financial knowledge to generate outrageous profits for them. Tellers, supervisors and their managers are each required to meet excessive marketing goals or risk being demoted or fired. In a story that broke on CBC News in March of this year, employees at the major big banks in Canada spoke out about the pressure to dupe customers in order to meet their unrealistic sales goals. These high pressured sales tactics are known as the 'hard sale' and involves applying pressure through forceful language or appealing to one's fears, emotions or greed in order to make a quick sale.

Canada's Big Banks were previously under fire in 2013 for replacing I/T or tech employees with temporary foreign workers. The CEO's at these banks vehemently denied such practices despite its continued use beginning in 2008.

Since the eighties and nineties, banks have been allowed to expand into the insurance and mutual fund markets. These new opportunities have allowed the Big Banks to manufacture and sell their own mutual fund products.  Branch staff have been educated in which of their bank's funds they are required to promote and sell at any given time. As sure as they charge fees, the mutual funds promoted to you, complete with their hidden fees and commissions, benefit their bank shareholders more than you.

With respect to mortgage lending, unless you negotiate your interest rate, term and total amortization period, these banks will sell you the highest rate and longest term and amortization period which is NOT in your best interest, but benefits their shareholders handsomely. Shopping around for your mortgage, including playing one bank against another, will ensure you receive the lowest rate and terms.

Another banking practice that is criminal in its form but is a cash cow to the big bank is insisting that you need and selling you their 'credit protection insurance'. This type of insurance, in most cases, is known to be  post claim underwriting (this means that your eligibility for coverage is not determined until a claim is filed and, at this stage, the claim is usually denied for a number of undisclosed reasons). Any type of credit protection insurance sold by banks provide them with a huge windfall to their bottom line and only allows you the privilege of paying their monthly premium.

Although the FinTech emerging market is an imminent and potential threat to the Big Banks monopoly on customers unquestionable historical blind trust, an alternative to banking with for-profit organizations is banking with a credit union. In this relationship, customers buy shares and are considered "owners" who also share in a percentage of year-end profits. Customers at credit unions are not pressured into unneeded and unwanted products AND honesty about their products relative to customers needs, are communicated and disclosed.

Future articles will provide more details on each of the topics described above.

Dismantle the United Nations and the World Health Organization

Research shows that after WWII, the Rockefellers needed to create the ideal political framework if their monopolies over oil and the drug/medicine business were to survive. With the assistance of the Rockefeller influence, in 1945, the United Nations was founded in San Francisco. In addition, founded as organizations that purportedly were created to serve the well-being of the people, the UN created subsidiary organizations including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO), which soon turned out to be nothing more than the political arms of the global oil and drug interests.

In 1963, under the pretense of protecting the health of consumers, the United Nations was instrumental in launching a four decade battle to outlaw natural health products, including vitamins and other non-patentable approaches to health. The ultimate goal, was to eliminate all competition for the soon to be multi-billion dollar drug enterprise. This (criminal) global strategy monopolized the health for billions of people, by providing lethal pills while depriving access to lifesaving information about the health benefits of natural products.

Between 1990-1992, Dr. Rath identified micronutrient deficiency as a primary cause for most diseases, including heart attacks, high blood pressure, diabetic circulatory problems, cancer and autoimmune disorders said to be caused from an unknown source with no known cures.

The World Health Organization (WHO) was established in 1948 as a specialized agency of the UN to serve as the authority for directing and coordinating international health matters and public health in general It is said that WHO fulfills these responsibilities through its extensive programme of publications.  That's all it has to do? Support Big Pharma research that further supports its goal of monopolization?

Consider the latest 2016 publication sponsored by WHO and written by the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse entitled "The health and social effects of non medical cannabis use" .This publication is lacking in reporting current information as it reports that the long-term health effects of cannabis use includes mental disorders including psychoses, depression, anxiety and suicide behavior; cardiovascular disease; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, respiratory disease and cancer. Ironically, a number of patent applications have been filed using cannabis to treat the above disorders.

This publication also reports the harmful effects of cannabis-use disorder.  Cannabis use disorder is defined in the fifth revision of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5)   as the "continued use of cannabis despite clinically significant impairment, ranging from mild to severe." It is reported that no medication has been proven effective in treating cannabis use disorder, however, most recently, the synthetic version of THC, known as Dronabinol, has been considered as an effective medication for cannabis use disorder. As an aside, controlled studies on Dronabinol use has been shown to create the negative effects reported as being associated with the use of the whole plant.

Antipsychotic drugs produced by Big-Pharma, are prescribed to children at alarming rates, without studying the long-term effects, despite FDA black box warnings. Most antipsychotic medication use among children and adolescents is “off label”, that is, for indications that are not approved by the FDA or used for children who are younger than the approved age ranges.

Conversely, cannabis is considered a controlled substance under Schedule I of the CSA in the US - where it is considered 'to have a high potential for abuse, no currently accepted medical use in treatment and a lack of accepted safety standards for using the drug or other substance under medical supervision.'

The WHO's most recent study (noted above) and its emphasis on "cannabis use disorder" is contrary to fundamental justice including the principles of "overbreadth" and "arbitrary" with respect to rejecting herbal medicine in favor of  harmful pharmaceutical pills.

The WHO, in pursuing their objective of "shaping the research agenda and stimulating the translation and dissemination of valuable knowledge" is overbroad in supporting harmful pharmaceutical pills while vilifying cannabis consumption with incorrect and faulty information to the public at large.

Cannabinoid patents

Although the cannabinoids THC and CBD are the only two cannabinoids required to be disclosed by the Licensed Producers under Canada's marijuana legislation, some dispensaries in the US also only disclose these two cannabinoids in their strains, choosing to ignore the following cannabinoids that have a greater presence over CBD in Indica strains:

Cannabigerol (CBG) - the link for this cannabinoid is for a patent application filed by GW Pharmaceuticals in treating depression and other mood disorders.

CBG for a number of diseases - the diseases or conditions to be treated are taken from the group: pain, neurodegenerative disease, ischemic disease, brain injury or damage, acquired brain injury, age related inflammatory or autoimmune disease, cachexia, nausea and vomiting, glaucoma, movement disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, allergy, psoriasis, Crohn's disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, renal ischemia and nephritis.  This was filed by GW Pharma

Cannabichromene (CBC) - GW Pharma claims to have invented a method for extracting this cannabinoid

CBC and Terpenes  - GW's invention in this patent is in the treatment of cancer  where the use of at least 50% of the phytocannabinoid component is not THC or CBD but CBC and with at least 15% of the non-phytocannabinoid containing component comprising certain terpenes such as myrcene and pinene.

CBC as an antiinflammatory and antimicrobial  - filed by the University of Mississippi

Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) -  by GW Pharma - using THCV for the treatment of obesity, schizophrenia, epilepsy, Alzheimer's, bone disorders, bulimia or the treatment of drug, alcohol or nicotine abuse or dependency

THCV, CBG, CBC and/or CBDV for intestinal inflammatory diseases -  this patent application filed by GW Pharma is for any one of the named cannabinoids for the preferential treatment of either ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease

The above patents are just a drop in the bucket relative to the number of studies conducted and patent applications filed using cannabis's medicinal properties.

The War on Canadian Dispensaries

After the Harper government implemented the new Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR), it became a crime in Canada to grow cannabis for personal medicinal use, as allowed under the previous regulations.

In a short period of time, after the MMPR came into existence, court cases were heard. The most significant Supreme Court Cases since the inception of the new MMPR were Smith v. Canada and Allard et al v. Canada. In both decisions, the Supreme Court found that the MMPR violates our Charter of Rights.

The emerging cannabis industry in Canada was sold to "big corporations", by Health Canada, as an emerging multi-billion dollar industry. It seems Health Canada assumed we, as patients, are all ignorant, docile and would just do as we are told regardless of incomprehensible legislation.

Health Canada states that they protect Canadians health (assuming, of course, we are individually unable to make intelligent personal health care decisions ourselves) at the same time as being wined and dined by the lobbying group of Big Corporations.

Understanding the players in the cannabis market is crucial for patients in developing a full understanding behind a simple medicinal plant known as Cannabis sativa. In this regard, for an indepth piece of investigative journalism on this subject, please see Cannabis in Canada , a British Columbia based site and proponent for the right to choose personal health care needs. Cannabis IN Canada dot CA must not be confused with Cannabis Canada, formerly known as CMCIA, a trade association for the Licensed Producers (LPs) in Canada.

There is no question that those in power, both the pharmaceutical industry and government are racing to control a plant. The problem they are having is that the cannabis plant has so many healing benefits, it doesn't fit into Big Pharma's 'rifle approach of one agent against one disease'.

Economics and Finance: A Web of Lies

cartoon image - honesty and business

ECO 101 - Any introductory course to economics describes the theory of supply and demand; the market system; the concept of inflation, deflation, stagnation; monetary policy and central banks; and more.

FIN 301 - Finance, at the intermediate to advance level in the pursuit of any business degree, will have you learn the concept of the time value of money (TVM). The principle behind the "time value of money" is simply "a dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow".  However, the definition of the TVM becomes convoluted as follows:

Investopedia defines the TVM as the idea that money available at the present time is worth more than the same amount in the future due to its potential earning capacity. This core principle of finance holds that, provided money can earn interest, any amount of money is worth more the sooner it is received.

Try reconciling the basic principles of economics in which a fair and equal market determines a stabilized price (eliminates inflation, deflation) versus the principle of a deflating dollar - prices continue to rise reducing your dollars power. How the heck is this possible in a just and equitable market?

The answer to this is that central banks are privately owned. In the US, the privately owned central bank is known as the Federal Reserve.

After the 2088 financial crash in which Ben Bernanke was the then Chair of the Federal Reserve, the following video shows the deception within which we, the people are to believe the banking system is NOT private.

The above video shows Florida representative Alan Grayson asking Bernanke the simple question of where did the missing money go

The bottom line is Bernanke's message, Chair of the United States Federal Reserve Central Bank, is that their goal is the raising of interest. For Mr. Alan Grayson's ability to draw out this valuable information from the then Chair of the Reserve, is it any wonder Mr. Grayson is drawing bad press?

FDA - DEA- NIH - NIDA - Controlling Cannabis

According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), "medicines today are expected to be of known composition and quality. Even in cases where marijuana can provide relief of symptoms, the crude plant mixture does not meet this modern expectation. The future of medical marijuana lies in classical pharmacological drug development, and indeed there has been a resurgence of scientific, as well as public, interest in the therapeutic applications of cannabinoids."

Further - "Current scientific accomplishments have propelled interest in developing new drugs that can treat more effectively or more safely the constellation of symptoms for which cannabinoids might have therapeutic benefit  Through the process of what is referred to as “rational drug design,” scientists manipulate the chemical structures of known cannabinoids to design better therapeutic agents."

Under the Controlled Substances Act, cannabis is a schedule 1 drug and participating countries are required to restrict production, manufacture, possession and distribution of cannabis except for medical and scientific purposes.

The DEA regulates the cultivation of cannabis for research purposes through licensing requirements and establishing production quotas under the authority of the CSA.

To conduct clinical drug research with Cannabis in the US, researchers are required to file an Investigational New Drug (IND) application with the FDA, obtain a Schedule 1 license from the US DEA and obtain approval from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). The NIDA, an institute of the National Institute of Health (NIH), is the only organization in the US licensed by the DEA to manufacture and distribute cannabis for research purposes. This function is performed under its Drug Supply Program. Through the program, the NIDA arranges for cannabis to be grown and processed through contracts with two organizations: the University of Mississippi and the Research Triangle Institute.

This elaborate control began with The Flexner report of 1910 and the recommendations it contained including :
  • Train physicians to practice in a scientific manner and engage medical faculty in research;
  • Give medical schools control of clinical instruction in hospitals
  • Strengthen state regulation of medical licenses
From this report, medicine was changed forever.  Medicine from natural healing products became known as quackery while lab based synthetic drugs - based on "science" - became known as "safe and effective" sound medicine.

The following has noted, extensively:

"Naturopathic and homeopathic medicine, medical care focused on unpatentable, uncontrollable natural remedies and cures was now dismissed as quackery; only drug-based allopathic medicine requiring expensive medical procedures and lengthy hospital stays was to be taken seriously...
It should also be noted that drug approval by the FDA permits the drug's manufacturer to market it for the treatment of a single specific symptom or condition. This "one pill for one symptom or condition" mindset, allows for a plethora of drugs with side effects.

Medical Cannabis in Canada and The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)

image and link to CFPC

The practice of family medicine in Canada was in considerable decline in the years leading up to the founding of The College of Family Physicians of Canada in 1954.

The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) published preliminary guidelines for the Physicians in Canada.

The regulatory board governing doctors in Canada states that the new Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR) has put doctors in a "difficult position: we are asked to authorize our patients’ access to a product with little evidence to support its use, and in the absence of regulatory oversight and approval."

According to this regulatory body, physicians in Canada must be on the alert for 'cannabis use disorder' in those patients seeking medical marijuana.

This regulatory board further contends that by grouping cannabis in with cocaine, alcohol and other drugs, a number of harmful effects exist in cannabis, alcohol, cocaine, amphetamines, etc.

The CFPC advises doctors in Canada to consider a trial of pharmaceutical cannabinoids before conceding and agreeing to dried marijuana since, they assert, that no researched evidence exists to support authorizing the use of dried marijuana. This is despite the fact that clinical trials with cannabis actually began in 1974.

The board governing family Physicians in Canada are advised to counsel those patients seeking marijuana that are suspected of a 'cannabis use disorder' to send them to an addiction treatment facility.

With the above information and reference, is it not evident that the pharmaceutical industry controls, and always have controlled those we call our health care professionals?

 Coffee Enemas

Dr. Max Gerson advocated 'coffee enemas' as a  CURE for a number of diseases, including cancer, as far back as WWII.

The Gerson Therapy is alive and well thanks to Dr. Gerson's daughter Charlotte Gerson.

The concept of 'Coffee enemas' is not a new phenomenon. In fact, Mae West, the voluptuous bombshell of the thirties and forties and famous for such lines as 'It's not the men in my life that count, it's the life in my men.", contributes her vitality to her daily morning enemas.

If you click on the above image, it will take you to your amazon site and will enlighten you on how to download this book. The book describes exactly how to perform an enema, what you need, where to get your supplies, and anything else you need know to help you incorporate the practice of performing enemas into your daily ritual.

There are so many benefits resulting from coffee enemas that can be described as life transforming and utterly amazing. Even if you are not suffering from a debilitating disease or illness, a truly amazing and immediate benefit you will immediately notice after undergoing your first coffee enema, is a dramatic boost in physical energy, mental clarity and upbeat mood. Other benefits of coffee enemas also include the elimination of parasites, bloating and associated digestive issues. Coffee enemas also helps your liver in many ways including assisting in the production of bile, eliminating stones and assists in regenerating a scarred liver.

There are so many benefits resulting from performing coffee enemas that make it impossible to summarize in one page. The above book will help you to incorporate this amazing beauty regime into your life with ease.

Medical Cannabis and the Interference of the State

Let the People Grow

Justice Michael Phelan of the Federal Court addressed a very important addressed in the Allard et al v. Her Majesty the Queen a constitutional challenge in the right to use a valuable health remedy.

An expert witness for the plaintiff, Dr. Kalant, stated the following valuable information:

"Dr. Kalant touched upon a problem that has run throughout this case – that despite the government having exerted control over medical marijuana, there is a surprising lack of research to justify many of the assumptions relied on by government. He acknowledged that there is insufficient evidence on which to base scientifically reasoned dosage ranges for different medical uses and acknowledged that patients can develop significant levels of tolerance to the effects of particular dosages."

The new MMPR regulations known as the Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulation, became invalid as a result of this decision. Furthermore, this decision has given the Canadian Government six months - from February, 2016 - to devise a "Charter compliant" new or revised medical marijuana regime.

It seems like there's a huge opportunity opening up with respect to medical cannabis.

Think Before you Pink

image of pink ribbon
The Canada Revenue Agency makes available all financial information required to be filed by registered Canadian Charities.

I typed in 'cancer' and was taken aback with the number of registered cancer charities. I chose 'Canadian Cancer Society' to view their financial statements. My jaw is still on the floor because of the amount of money these organizations accumulate.

Under Charity legislation in Canada, a registered Canadian Charity is required to spend at least 80% of their receipted income in the following year. This 80% is known as the disbursement quota and includes transfers of money to qualified donees.

In reviewing the financial information of various cancer charities, it is clear that they operate by shuffling money between themselves as a way to meet the required disbursement quota.

The Canadian Cancer Society - Toronto, in their most recent financial statements, received $34 million as income from other charities and paid out $1.5 million in management salaries, $1.3 million in professional fees, $1.4 million in miscellaneous expenses and over $13 million to 'qualified donees'.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, also in Toronto, reported earning over three million dollars in interest income in their most recent financial statements. This charity also reported paying out over $18.2 million to qualified donees.

How is it that a charity is able to earn over three million dollars in interest income if they are supposed to be focused on charity activities?

Cannabichromene and Cannabidiol (CBC vs CBD)

image of GC

In organic chemistry, a method of separating the compounds in a medicinal plant involves a type of chromatography. The most common types of chromatography used includes gas chromatography (GC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and thin layer chromatography (TLC).

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), since inception, recommended using Gas Chromatography in determining drug-type marijuana from fiber-type marijuana along with using a ratio of only two cannabinoids - THC and CBD.  They have determined that a ratio of greater than one means drug-type and less than one indicates fiber or hemp type.

Chromatogram using GC

The problem with gas chromatography is in its lack of ability in separating the cannabinoids cannabichromene - CBC and cannabidiol - CBD.

In most Indica strains tested using Thin Layer Chromatography, there was either no cannabidiol present or there was only trace amounts relative to CBG - cannabigerol, THCV - tetrahydrocannabivarin, CBC - cannabichromene and THC.

As a result of the UN's antiquated testing method with the view of confiscating cannabis, the new emerging cannabis industry market is starting off on the wrong foot by indicating only THC and CBD as the only cannabinoids deemed worthy of knowledge and disclosure.

Turmeric - Health and Beauty Benefits

book image of Turmeric

"Turmeric: A Cancer Cure?" by Ryder Management Inc. describes the amazing health AND beauty benefits of turmeric.

Did you know that 'Ole Miss" was granted a patent on their so called invention of turmeric's healing abilities but then subsequently had their patent revoked when India challenged it?

"Ole Miss" also known as the University of Mississippi has the "R1' status as determined by the Carnegie system. ("Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education" is a ranking of Universities providing research and R1 is the highest)

Turmeric, also called 'haldi' in India, is known as the 'sine qua non' of food and medicine (sine qua non can roughly be translated to mean 'without which, there is none').

The biopiracy of turmeric occurred not long after the attempted biopiracy of 'neem'. The question is 'how can anyone be granted a patent - intellectual property right' on something which has been the collective wisdom of an indigenous population since antiquity?'

Turmeric is a spice included in curry. It is also a dye and is responsible for the color of the mustard we put on hot dogs. Turmeric is related to ginger and comes from the root of the curcuma longa plant

The health benefits of turmeric is long, however, the benefits of using a paste of turmeric powder with coconut oil as a facial mask is nothing short of amazing.

A haldi paste, applied to the body, is a ritual in traditional Hindu weddings. It is usually made with equal parts of gram flour and raw milk. Gram flour is also known as besan, chick pea flour and garbanzo bean flour and is a staple on the Indian subcontinent.

Clicking on the above image will open in a new window and take you to Amazon.

This book, The Ideal Morning Routine describes twelve simple habits to incorporate into your morning ritual that will change your life for the better.

For example, the Ideal Morning Routine #2 is all about Oil Pulling. Although oil pulling is not new, it is appearing more and more in current news blogs including Natural News , WebMed, and Dr Axe.

Oil pulling involves swishing about a teaspoon of coconut oil in your mouth for about 10-20 minutes upon rising and then spitting it out. This procedure literally removes any and all bacteria and germs that accumulate in your mouth while you sleep. The list of health benefits associated with this practice is lengthy and includes whiter teeth, reduced cavities, reduced inflammation, prevents heart disease, kills bad breath, strengthens gums and jaw, and so much more.

Following Oil Pulling is Ideal Morning Routine #3 - Lemon Water. The benefits of drinking a glass of filtered water with 1/4-1/2 lemon squeezed into it, is very impressive. For such a simple and inexpensive drink, not only does a glass of lemon water increase your vitamin C content, this drink also aids in your digestion, boosts your immune system, increases your energy, freshens your breath and so much more.

In addition to describing the benefits of oil pulling and drinking a glass of lemon water in the morning, The Ideal Morning Routine also explains exactly how to incorporate these routines and what you each will do for you.

Cannabis Use Disorder and Nabilone

In a recent study published in the March, 2016 issue of JAMA Psychiatry, it was reported that researchers at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) are sounding the alarm over a possible increase in unknown cognitive and behavioral harms that widespread cannabis use may unmask.

A clinical review conducted by NIDA director Nora Volkow, MD, points out that as legalization of the drug for recreational and medical use spreads, vulnerable populations, especially adolescents, are exposed to toxic effects of the drug.

"This is not a problem that is specific to marijuana," Dr Volkow told Medscape Medical News."Young brains and drugs shouldn’t mix. Period."

Surprisingly, clinical trials are underway in the US to test Nabilone, a synthetic cannabinoid, as a treatment for Cannabis Use Disorder

Other studies in the US report that a high percentage of children who are insured under Medicaid use some type of psychiatric drug. In addition, most of those children prescribed an anti-psychotic, are taking them for an 'off-label' use.

If the above is not contradictory enough, GW Pharma has filed a patent for their discovery of two cannabinoids found in cannabis, namely THCV and CBD, as having the means to treat psychosis!

Canada Pension Plan Disability - CPP-D

Denied CPP

CPP-D in Canada is a section of the Canada Pension Plan legislation that is supposed to provide supplemental payments should you, as a working contributor, become disabled.

As and applicant, you need a best friend in this particular endeavour.

To the rescue is: DCAC - Disability Claims Advocacy Clinic Inc.

The above is separate and independent from the following:
According to Canada, under the new CPP-D legislation, disability is defined as

"a severe disability, meaning that you are so incapacitated that you cannot work full-time, part time, or seasonally to support yourself. According to the legislation, a disability is severe if it results in the person being “incapable regularly of pursuing any substantially gainful occupation”

(Section or sub-para 42 [2] [a] [i]) Determining what is considered “substantially gainful” involves looking at a number of factors, such as the level of your earnings, and how well you are able to do job tasks

. • You must have a prolonged disability, meaning that your disability must be expected to continue for a long time or a significant time after your application. According to the legislation, a disability When a person deemed disabled
(2) For the purposes of this Act, .

(a) a person shall be considered to be disabled only if he is determined in prescribed manner to have a severe and prolonged mental or physical disability, and for the purposes of this paragraph,

(i) a disability is severe only if by reason thereof the person in respect of whom the determination is made is incapable regularly of pursuing any substantially gainful occupation, and

(ii) a disability is prolonged only if it is determined in prescribed manner that the disability is likely to be long continued and of indefinite duration or is likely to result in death; and

(b) a person shall be deemed to have become or to have ceased to be disabled at such time as is determined in the prescribed manner to be the time when the person became or ceased to be, as the case may be, disabled, but in no case shall a person be deemed to have become disabled earlier than fifteen months before the time of the making of any application in respect of which the determination is made.

Each one of these words have their own meaning in Canada Pension Plan disability benefit claims.

The disability has to be severe – as defined as the claimant must be “incapable regularly of pursuing any substantially gainful occupation”.

Substantially gainful occupation has been defined by the Canada Pension Plan as being able to earn an amount equivalent to the the maximum monthly CPP retirement pension.

As of January 2012, the maximum monthly CPP retirement pension is $986.67.

(Section 42 [2] [a] [ii]). “Prolonged” at the time of application does not refer to past duration of the disability, although that may help show it is prolonged. The question is whether the disability is likely to be long continued in the future.

Healing-Source Hemp Hearts

What is so great about hemp seed? It has to be THE most nutritious food on the planet and thus, can be considered a superfood. Hemp can help achieve optimal health and well-being when four-five tablespoons are consumed on a daily basis. Hempseed, if it were the only item available to eat, contains all the nutritional requirements to sustain life.

Hemp seed is a rich source of protein, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, iron, zinc, vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamins B6, B12, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B-2), niacin (B3), folate (B-9), all the essential amino acids and the most balanced source of essential fatty acids (EFA) known.

Hemp seed also contain a surprisingly high level of the amino acid arginine, known to assist in homeostasis in the body.

Hemp seed contain the perfect ratio of omega-6 EFA (known as linoleic acid) to omega-3 EFA (known as alpha-linolenic acid) making hemp seed very easy for our body to digest. In addition, hemp seed contains the rare ESA gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) an omega-6 and stearidonic acid (SDA) an omega-3.

Essential fatty acids are called essential since our body is unable to make it on its own and therefore requires EFA's from our diet. The EFA's in hemp seed are in a perfect ratio to protect the brain from dementia, fight inflammation and protect the heart and immune system. Studies have shown that a deficiency or an imbalance in essential fatty acids is linked to many diseases and conditions. It's abundantly clear that there are so many health provoking reasons to include hemp seed in our daily diet.  What is the easiest way? You can sprinkle hemp seed on everything you eat however, what about hemp milk?

Hemp Milk Recipe

There are so many recipes for hemp milk, the ratio of filtered water to hemp seed might seem confusing. However, the beauty of being able to make your own hemp milk, is in the control you have in getting it just right - just the way you like it.

If you are just starting to experiment with making your own hemp milk, the first hurdle to overcome is choosing the ratio of filtered water to quantity of hemp seed for your particular palate. Understanding that hemp seed is a valuable commodity should help you be somewhat conservative to start. With this in mind, the standard recipe for hemp milk will have you start with two to up to four cups of cold filtered water and 1/2 cup up to one cup of hemp seed; this is  added to your food processor or NutriBullet and blended until your desired consistency is reached. These recipes also mention filtering the milk through a cheesecloth or strainer, prior to serving.

The following is a standard recipe for Hemp Milk:

1 cup of hemp seed
3 cups of filtered water
pinch of Himalayan Salt (or Celtic sea salt)

If sweetened milk is desired, add:

1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
2-6 pitted Medjool dates or 2 - 3 Tbsp of maple syrup, honey or other sweetener.

Instructions:

Blend all in your blender for 30-60 seconds.

Alternative Methods:

A number of methods would have you strain your milk using a nut milk bag, cheesecloth or sheer nylon hosiery. IMHO (in my humble opinion), unless you will be using the strained material, you are otherwise, throwing out very variable nutrients.
