Cannabis Oil Qualifies as Medicine

On December 21, 2014, the United Patient`s Group reported that a California court has ruled that concentrated cannabis qualifies as medical marijuana.
`A state appellate court in Sacramento California has ruled that “concentrated cannabis” qualifies as marijuana for purposes of medical use.

A unanimous three-justice panel of the 3rd District Court of Appeal disagreed this week with an earlier ruling by El Dorado Superior Court Judge James R. Wagoner and reversed the judge’s decision that a medical marijuana patient violated probation by possessing concentrated cannabis.

Sean Patrick Mulcrevy, of Cameron Park, was charged in 2013 with unlawful possession of concentrated cannabis, a misdemeanor, and was alleged to have violated his probation because of his failure “to obey all laws.”

Wagoner reviewed the existing legal authority indicating that concentrated cannabis is covered by California’s Compassionate Use Act, or CUA, the 1996 voter initiative approving medical use of marijuana with a doctor’s recommendation. But Wagoner rejected the authority as “unsound” and ruled that “the (CUA) does not apply to concentrated cannabis” because the act does not define marijuana, refer to concentrated cannabis or incorporate statutory definitions of either term.

According to the state’s Health & Safety Code, concentrated cannabis is “the separated resin, whether crude or purified, obtained from marijuana.”

A probation search of Mulcrevy by a sheriff’s deputy turned up 0.16 grams of “honey oil” – a form of concentrated cannabis, 0.05 grams of “dabs” – another form of concentrated cannabis, and 3.33 grams of marijuana.

Mulcrevy, 22, had a physician’s recommendation for use of marijuana and its active ingredient, THC, to treat migraine headaches and acid reflux. He had purchased the marijuana, dabs and honey oil in a medical marijuana store.

Wagoner extended Mulcrevy’s probation by two years, but stayed execution of the sentence pending appeal.

In an opinion issued Wednesday, the justices concluded that Wagoner violated Mulcrevy’s right to defend himself when the judge prevented Mulcrevy from presenting a defense based on the CUA.

Concentrated cannabis “is covered by the CUA, and there is insufficient evidence (Mulcrevy) violated his probation in light of that conclusion,” the justices stated in their unpublished opinion. “Therefore, we also conclude the court’s error was not harmless and we reverse the trial court’s judgment.”

Heads Up on GM Pot

An imminent and real threat has the capability of endangering cannabis as we know it. This imminent threat is Monsanto’s ability to genetically modify medicinal marijuana in a way that is harmful to our health.

I discovered in horror, that Health Canada, without our knowledge, approved genetically modified food and allowed it into the mainstream of our food industry over fifteen years ago. This was somehow accomplished through the creation of a new category of food entitled “novel foods”. Most recently, Health Canada has recalled certain novel food products due to their emerging allergens. Where was the adequate testing prior to approving the products? According to Health Canada's web-site, their statement is that "in principle genetically modified food products that are demonstrated to be safe, are treated the same as non-GM food with regard to labelling requirements"! http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/gmf-agm/fs-if/faq_1-eng.php#p3

The Industrial Hemp Regulations, which came into effect on March 12, 1998, covers the cultivation, processing, transportation, sales, import and export of industrial hemp in Canada. Health Canada states that the regulatory system governing hemp is very strict since, they say, it is crucial to protect the health and well-being of Canadians. (Why then are these same standards not applied to GM food products?) In addition, Hemp farmers are only allowed to use hemp seeds from a "List of Approved Cultivars" (LOAC) in order that THC in hemp remains at "an acceptable level". Seed saving and the use of common hemp seeds are prohibited. This begs the question, is hemp being genetically modified? Is the limited "List of Approved Cultivers" a way to eliminate competition?

Journalist Andrew Walden published a major heads up article in the Hawaii Free Press on December 5, 2013 advising medical marijuana advocates to question anti-genetic protests because once pot is genetically modified, a ban on GM plants can “re-prohibit” medical marijuana under the guise of banning GM plants, a back door way of prohibition.   http://www.hawaiifreepress.com/ArticlesMain/tabid/56/ID/9027/

Ironic? You bet! Just as cannabis is getting closer to legalization, hot dam, cannabis can then be legislated as harmful due to its genetically modified makeup! In addition, GM cannabis can arm the DEA in a way of being allowed to raid grow ops under the premise of patent infringement.

It is with horror to report that certain potent varieties of cannabis have already been developed through the process of genetic modification. According to the University of Central Florida, a US patent is pending for a cannabis sativa strain utilizing a genetic modified enhancing process.

It is reported that Cali, Columbia has been growing enhanced cannabis strains for some time and those strains fetch ten times the dollars compared to what the normal strains can fetch. These new genetically modified versions, go by names such as “Creepy” and “La Cominera” and boast THC content as high as 18% - 30%! http://www.hawaiifreepress.com/ArticlesMain/tabid/56/ID/9027/

One method of producing feminized seeds is accomplished by using a “genome-doubling” agent called “colchicine”. Colchicine is toxic yet a so-called natural product and is extracted from certain plant genuses. It seems to me, in order for this products continued use, the harm this toxic extract causes is being suppressed. Another instance of "profits over patients"?
This method of creating feminized seeds is a process of crossing a tetraploid strain (four sets of chromosomes) with a normal diploid strain (two complete sets of chromosomes), thus producing atriploid offspring which then is expected to result in sterile offspring. This method of cloning was originally and spontaneously discovered in 1936 by Nelson-Ehle.  http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1601-5223.1945.tb02761.x/pdf

The genetically modified process filed for patent approval by the University of Central Florida in which THC content is greatly enhanced involves the use of the powerful and toxic chemical alkaloid “colchicine”. When this poison is applied to our beloved cannabis, it has the effect of severely altering the female plant in conditions that are unregulated and without any oversight or controls in order to produce "a more powerful and potent end product" which is known as polyploidy. It should be noted that testing for polyploidy plants can be carried out with relative ease strictly by the physical appearance. To this end, under any GM ban, these polyploidy plants can be duly confiscated by the thugs.

The online “marijuana growers guide, section 18-7” describes the polyploidy process as follows:

“Polyploid Cannabis plants were produced by treatment with the alkaloid colchicine. Colchicine interferes with normal mitosis, the process in which cells are replicated. During replication, the normal doubling of chromosomes occurs, but colchicine prevents normal separation of the chromosomes into two cells. The cell then is left twice (or more then) the normal chromosome count.
Warmke's experiments concluded that polyploids contained higher concentrations of the "active ingredient." However, the procedure for measuring that ingredient was much the same as described for grafting, with probably similar shortcomings.

Polyploid Cannabis has been found to be larger; with larger leaves and flowers. Recent experience has shown that polyploids are not necessarily higher in potency. Usually they are about equal to diploid siblings.

Colchicine is a highly poisonous substance. The simplest and safest way to induce polyploids is to soak seeds in a solution of colchicine derived from bulbs of winter or autumn crocus (Colchicum); Mash the bulbs and add an equal part of water; Strain through filter paper (or paper towels); Soak seeds in the solution and plant when they start to germinate; Cultivate as usual.
Only some of the seeds will become polyploidy. Polyploidy sprouts generally have thicker stems, and the leaves are often unusually shaped, with uneven-sized blades. Leaves also may contain more than the usual number of blades. As the plant grows, leaves should return to normal form, but continue to be larger and with more blades.”

Polyploidy is defined as a numerical change in a whole set of chromosomes and is considered an abnormal cell division, occurring during mitosis, or during metaphase in meiosis.

To push this point further, wheat today is having an adverse effect on many of our digestive systems due to not being able to tolerate gluten any more. This is a result of a genetic modification of wheat to produce a new variety they called durum. Durum is the only tetraploid species of wheat cultivated for its high protein content which ultimately has caused this spike in gluten intolerance in a large, unsuspecting population.

The medicinal and miraculous benefits of cannabinoids, in its natural state, was criminally taken away from us a century ago. Just when we thought that cannabis will finally be released from this travesty of justice, the thugs messed with its makeup in order to prevent us from reaping its true benefits once again.

 Coincidence?

 I think not!

Health Canada and Genetically Modified Pot

In February 2000, Cannabis Culture (CC) met with a whistle blower from the Ministry of Health, whom wished to remain anonymous. Cannabis Culture reported that their source provided them with leaked information including documents that described how Health Canada was in the process of testing genetically modified cannabis seed - for the purpose of choosing a prime contractor to become the possible supplier of GE pot seeds. The documents showed that Health Canada was obtaining seeds for their trials from the University of Mississippi - which is where Monsanto produces their "standardized GE cannabis seeds".

Cannabis Culture did point out that it is in Monsanto's best interest to patent the seeds to ensure continued profits year after year.

The UN grouped Industrial Hemp and Cannabis Sativa/Indica under the same classification- which then allowed the criminalization and control of these plants for almost 100 years. It should be pointed out that Health Canada, since they began licensing the cultivation of hemp under strict regulations beginning in 1998 only allows licensed hemp farmers to use hemp seeds from an "approved cultivar".

Most recently, it has been announced that CEN Biotech, a subsidiary of the Michigan public company "Creative Edge Nutrition Inc" (OTC Pink: FITX), is the latest "pharmaceutical" Health Canada approved as a Licensed Producer under Canada's new Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR) - which are slated to become fully effective April 1, 2014.

Creative Edge Nutrition Inc. is a "holding company" whose standard industrial classification (sic) code is 2834 - Pharmaceutical Preparations.

According to a November, 2013 edition of the Windsor Star, CEN Biotech began construction on a 56,000 sq ft building that will be attached to an existing 26,400 sq ft facility in Lakeshore, ON, near Windsor. The Windsor Star reported that CEN Biotech is the third firm to apply to grow medicinal marijuana in Essex County.

On October 31, 2013, Abattis Bioceuticals Corp from Vancouver, B.C. (OTC Pink: ATTBF) announced that they too submitted an application to become a licensed producer and were waiting for receipt from Health Canada. More recently, this pharmaceutical confirmed sponsoring "Cannabis Monograph" development which is now ready for shipping. According to their web-site:

"The monograph represents one of the most complete and critically reviewed monographs on cannabis in the world. Like all American Herbal Pharmacopoeia (AHP) monographs, the publication provides standards of identity, purity, analysis, and quality, as well as information on the cultivation and storage of the botanical and its preparations."

In 1941, the US government removed cannabis from the 1942 edition of the US Pharmacopoeia and proceeded to demonize it for the next seventy years. While the DEA prosecuted and made criminals out of innocent people since that time period, the pharmaceutical companies have been working behind the scenes in an attempt to take l control of cannabis under the pretense of "it is for the safety of people".

It is a real tragedy to learn that society has been denied of so much both in terms of the health of the environment and the health of "we the people".

Can it really be true that cannabis is the be all to end all in medicine?

How could a plant be victimized so badly when the truth is that it's medicinal properties can cure every disease known to man?

It is beyond belief to think that we have been lied to for over one hundred years for greed and profit.

Who is N.C.B.I.

I've been spending a great many hours researching natural medicine.  Within this quest, whenever I type a subject into my favorite search engine (google, for example), NCBI appears as an authoritative source, or so it seems.

Who is NCBI?

NCBI - The National Center for Biotechnology Information - according to wikipedia  "is part of the United States National Library of Medicine (NLM), a branch of the National Institutes of Health. The NCBI is located in Bethesda, Maryland and was founded in 1988 through legislation sponsored by Senator Claude Pepper".

A publicly funded organization, therefore, information to be taken with a grain of salt.

We are told that autoimmune diseases (of which the list continues to grow) arise from unknown sources and they have no known cures.  Over and over again, we hear this from our "health care professional".

With the above in mind, how is it that they can replicate a disease (of no known origin or cure) in mice in order to test the efficacy of certain phytochemicals (derived from plants)?
